In 1610, a ten-year-girl named Cicily arrived at Jamestown, Virginia, presumably with her parents (whose names have been lost to history), aboard a ship called The Swan. By doing so, she became our earliest known ancestor in the "New World." But there's more: As an adult, Cicily had three husbands. The chart below illustrates how my grandparents--Alice Tate Butler and Charlie Miles--were distantly related to one another through Cicily's first and third husbands,
