April 22: Newspapers all over the country report that a woman living near Richardson has killed her three children and then herself. |

n.d.: Prof. A. H, Hill begins publishing Richardson's first newspaper, The Richardson News. Dec. 23: While crossing Spring Creek bridge, four miles north of Richardson, four cars of a H.&T.C. freight train are derailed and fall into the creek. A brakeman is killed. |
