Embarcadero The Embarcadero, located behind the Hall of State and adjacent to the Cotton Bowl, is more or less a mirror-image twin of the Food and Fiber Building (but without any murals). It was constructed in 1936 for the Texas Centennial Exposition to serve as the Food Exhibit Building. Today, during the annual State Fair, it is used as space for retailers selling a wide variety of products.
