Detective Jim Leavelle, Lee Harvey Oswald, and Jack Ruby, November 24, 1963
In September 2006 I chanced to meet retired Dallas Police Department detective Jim Leavelle, who very graciously sent me this autographed photo of himself handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald on Sunday, November 24, 1963, when Oswald was shot and mortally wounded by Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby.
