Return to Home Page or Tour Home A Tour of Richardson's "Historic Heart" HISTORIC DOWNTOWN RICHARDSON is a compact 6-block area which from the mid-1870s up to the early 1950s, constituted the city's principal business district. It lies between Sherman Street on the west and Greenville Avenue on the east, with Main Street (a.k.a. Belt Line Road) running through its center, intersected by McKinney Street, Texas Street, and Interurban Street. Today, this district -- the "historic heart" of Richardson -- is a hodge-podge of architectural styles occupied by a variety of businesses. It's also the place where if you want to know more about the history of the city, then this is the place to start! OR, use the list below to learn about each site or building individually.
